GoodVision in India – much achieved, much still to do

We want our work to have a lasting and sustainable impact on the ground. By training and employing skilled workers, we enable women in particular to lead a more self-determined life by earning their own income.

Targeted support for women

We work together with local self-help groups, offer young women training and consistently follow our principle of equal pay for equal work. In this way, we promote the self-confidence of women in India and drive social development towards equal rights.

Creating jobs

By expanding our program in rural areas of India, we are creating permanent jobs for local people and making a lasting contribution to improving the living conditions of our colleagues and their families.

Awareness-raising campaigns

Through our broad-based awareness campaigns, we help to raise health awareness among people in the villages of India. We meet them at eye level and thus help to maintain and improve the livelihoods of many thousands of people in India through good eyesight.

Dipti Prusty trained as an ophthalmic staff at Care Netram in 2018. At the time, she was 23 years old and already married to a man two years her junior. Since her marriage, the young woman has lived with her parents-in-law, as tradition dictates. For a long time, Dipti's husband had no work and the young woman was the main breadwinner in the family with her fixed income at Care Netram.

Dipti and her husband would also like to have children. She has already agreed with her parents-in-law that they will then also look after the children and perhaps even move to where Dipti is currently working – a small sensation for India! Working at Care Netram gives Dipti and other young women a whole new sense of self-confidence and the opportunity to shape their lives according to their own wishes.
