Current studies predict that half of humanity will be short-sighted by 2050. Providing so many millions of people with glasses, even in the poorest and most remote regions of the world, is only possible if we join forces – through cooperation between international NGOs, the WHO and government representatives.
IAPB
We are a member of the IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness), an umbrella organization of more than 150 international eye health organizations. The IAPB is actively campaigning for eye health to be included in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. At the annual congresses, we forge partnerships that have already led to numerous collaborations in our program countries.
SPECS 2030
EinDollarBrille association is a founding member of this initiative, which was launched by the WHO (World Health Organization) in May 2024. The action alliance of key organizations and associations in the field of eye health highlights the urgency of the problem of untreated vision problems on a global scale. SPECS has set itself the goal of treating at least 40% of correctable vision problems by 2030, thereby enabling people in disadvantaged countries to access optical and medical care.
