Awards

On 30 November 2025, the EinDollarBrille association (GoodVision) received the Marion Dönhoff Award in recognition of its pioneering commitment to improving vision on a global scale. "EinDollarBrille proves how integration is possible through simple yet effective solutions," said the jury in their statement. The €20,000 prize is awarded by DIE ZEIT, the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS and the Marion Dönhoff Foundation.

Am 18. November 2024 hat eine Fachjury die EinDollarBrille mit dem Programmland GoodVision Burkina Faso als globales Vorzeigeprojekt ausgezeichnet, das den Geist der Expo verkörpert. Mit dem übergreifenden Thema „Designing Future Society for Our Lives“ möchten die Expo-Veranstalter Initiativen würdigen, die nachhaltige und skalierbare Lösungen für ein besseres und selbstbestimmteres Leben bieten.

Anfang November 2024 wurde Die EinDollarBrille in das Archiv Der Neuen Sammlung in München aufgenommen. Das Designmuseum der Bayerischen Staatsgemäldesammlungen würdigt mit dieser Aufnahme nicht nur die Innovation hinter der EinDollarBrille, sondern auch ihre Bedeutung im Kontext von sozialem Design und nachhaltiger Entwicklung. 

In June 2024, GoodVision received the German Award for Sustainability Projects in the equal opportunities category. This award recognizes outstanding projects and initiatives that stand out for their particular sustainability and social responsibility.

In December 2017, Martin Aufmuth received the prestigious Next Economy Award for GoodVision. The award was presented by former national team player Philipp Lahm. The award is presented by the German Sustainability Award Foundation together with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German Council for Sustainable Development and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce.

On June 23, 2017, Martin Aufmuth was awarded the Bavarian State Medal for Social Merit for his commitment to the GoodVision Glasses.

In July 2016, the GoodVision was honored with the 2016 Robert E. Hopkins Leadership Award from the Optical Society of America (OSA). With more than 19,000 members in over 100 countries, the Optical Society is the leading association in the field of optics and photonics. This is the first time that the GoodVision Glasses have been recognized as groundbreaking from a scientific perspective.

In November 2015, the GoodVision won the prestigious Tech Award in the Economic Development category, sponsored by the Sobrato Organization. The award was presented in person by John Michael Sobrato, President of the Sobrato Organization, at a gala in San José (California, USA).

The 1st prize of the Empowering people. Award of the Siemens Stiftung was presented to Martin Aufmuth in Nairobi in 2013. More than 800 organizations and individuals worldwide competed for the prize, which is endowed with 50,000 euros. The award recognizes technical innovations that contribute to sustainably improving the living conditions of people in developing countries.
