Nepali New Year
In Nepal, the New Year does not begin in the middle of winter, but in the blooming heart of spring.
On April 14th, our team at GoodVision Nepal celebrated this special day.
For many people in Nepal, the New Year is a time to be with family. It is a day for cooking together, laughing together, and reflecting on the past year. Many families also spend the day in nearby nature, sharing food and enjoying a picnic together. At the same time, four members of our team were traveling in a rural region, far from their own families as they continued their work in local communities. Even so, they did not want to let the day pass by unacknowledged.

So they decided to bring the celebration to where they were!
Together with members of the local community where they were, they prepared food and shared the evening together. There was music, singing, and what began as an ordinary working day became a warm and joyful celebration shaped by connection, togetherness, and the simple, but deeply human desire to share something meaningful with those around us.
Prativa, our Country Manager in Nepal, was able to celebrate the New Year with her family and shared these impressions with us.
Thank you for sharing this unique sliver of joy with us!
